External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj will on Thursday meet the family members of the Indian nationals kidnapped in Iraq.
The family members will be accompanied by the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leaders, Manjeet GK and Manjinder Sirsa.
Earlier, Advisor to Punjab CM, Harcharan Bains, said that all help would be extended for getting our people back from there. He said that this is an international affair, so it is the government of India that has to negotiate.
Meanwhile, one of the family members said that they are praying for the safe return of their children and had received phone calls from the External Affairs Minister assuring them of the government's help.
The Ministry of External Affairs had confirmed on Wednesday that the 40 Indians, who had gone missing in Mosul, Iraq, had indeed been kidnapped.
Former Indian Ambassador to Iraq Suresh Reddy has been sent to the strife-torn nation to take stock of the situation and help bring back the abducted Indians home.
