NEW DELHI: Taj Mahal will be recreated in sand in New York next week to help the people there to get a feel of the monument of love.
International sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik would reconstruct the monument in a miniature form during the three-day "Incredible India@60" programme, a cultural extravaganza being organised in New York by Ministry of Tourism and Culture and CII from September 23 to 26 to
highlight India's art, culture, dance, cuisine and fashion.
Pattnaik, who have carved more than 35 sand Taj Mahals at different places in the country and abroad, will create another such structure in sand at port Authority Bus station, New York's main bus terminal, he said.
He plans to use seven trucks of sand for the structure in New York which will be open for public.
The artist, from Puri in Orissa, has so far participated in more than 34 international sand sculpture championships across the world and won many awards for the country.
Recently Pattnaik had participated in the International sand sculpture championship in Berlin where his structure of Taj Mahal had won public prize.
