The BJP today demanded that the Tamil Nadu government take steps to get Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant commissioned to generate power, as the state is facing an acute power shortage.
Speaking to reporters here, party's state president Pon Radhakrishnan said the current situation would not have come to such a pass had the present government got it commissioned soon after coming to power.
"Tamil Nadu government should not delay taking action against the anti people of KNPP.
He also demanded that the government release a white paper on the charges and countercharges by pro-KNPP and anti-KNPP activists over commissioning of the plant.
He also demanded an enquiry into reported Naxal involvement in the alleged encounter in which five men suspectedly involved in two bank robberies were shot dead in Chennai.
