MADURAI: Tamil actor J Kutty, who displayed an exceptional performance in the film 'Dancer' despite his disability, died after a fall at a hotel in Paramakudi in Ramanathapuram District.
He sustained head injuries after he fell down from the stairs while talking on his mobile on Monday and was immediately admitted to Government Rajaji Hospital here, police said.
He arrived at Paramakudi along with a troupe of artistes to perform at a temple festival.
Kutty was debuted in the movie, which told the story of a young man with one leg becoming a dancing sensation due to his self confidence, hardwork and determination.
He had also acted in a recent movie 'Lee'.
Hailing from Kumbakonam, Kutty lost his limb in an accident.
