Tamil Nadu Elections 2016: DMDK chief Vijayakanth takes a 'no bribing' oath

DMDK cheif  Vijaykanth has been campaigning around Tamil Nadu and on Tuesday he headed to several temples. The elections are less than a week away and candidates and party leaders have stepped up on the campaign trail and also invoking prayers.

The New Indian Express reports that on Tuesday Vijayakanth, his wife Premalatha and brother-in-law L K Sudheesh went to the Ulundanavar Mashapureeswarar temple and the Lakshmi Narasimhar temple in Parikkal. After the pooja at the temple, Vijayakanth also took an oath not to bribe voters. Opposition parties however said this was just a drama adds the daily.

 Lakshmi Narasimhar temple in Parikkal, which is around 1800 years old, is a ' Prathana Sthalam'. This is a temple where people offer prayers to defeat enemies, get ride of debts and health issues adds the report. 

In his earlier campaigns too, Captain Vijayakanth had visited some temples.  He contested from Virudhachalam, where Virudhagirishwarar temple is located in 2006.  In 2011, he won from Rishivandiyam, where Arthanareeswarar temple is located.
