An MLA in Tamil Nadu has done a unique feat to wish Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on her 68th birthday. All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) MLA, M V Karuppaiah, who represents the Sholavandan Assembly constituency, went to the government swimming poll near Gandhi Museum in Madurai on Tuesday. He then floated on water, holding an AIADMK flag in his mouth, for 48 minutes.

According to Eenadu, Karuppaiah, who was sporting a t-shirt with Jayalalithaa's image, said he performed the 'Jalapradakshnam' act for Amma's well-being and to convey his birthday wishes to her. He left the swimming pool after nearly an hour shouting 'Amma vazhga, Amma vazhga' (Long live Amma).

In 2014 too, Karuppaiah reportedly floated in a well in his constituency for close to half-a-day when Amma was in jail in Bengaluru. Many AIADMK supporters across the state are performing various feats for Jayalaithaa's birthday to express their wishes.
