Tamil Nadu: Political parties organise beef fest ‘My food, My right’

Many political parties took part in this beef festival in Trichy on Sunday.

On Sunday, volunteers from numerous political parties and organisations got together for beef festival in Trichy. Participants in the fetivals included members of the Indian National League, Tamilaga Valvuurimai Katchi, Tamilaga Makkal Jananayaga Katchi, Dravidar Kazhagam, Athitamilar Vidhuthalai Katchi and the Marumalarchi Makkal Katchi, who were part of this fest.

According to report in the Deccan Chronicle, a large beef festival was organised by them with a banner stating “En Unavu-En Urimai” (My food, My right). Hundreds of people reportedly took part in this beef festival.

Indian National League’s Trichy district chief, A Kaleel, has stated that this fest was organised to condemn the Dadri lynching incident, says the report. He also said that food is an individual’s right and no one should interfere with it.
