A teenaged labourer, who was clinging on to the windows of a moving train, suffered head injuries after falling from it in the national capital.

A teenaged labourer, who was clinging on to the windows of a moving train, suffered head injuries after falling from it in the national capital.

Nizamuddin (18), who hails from Aligarh, was going to his hometown on the Tumla passenger train when he fell from it near Vivek Vihar railway station around 1.30 pm, a senior police official said.

The teenager had taken the train from Old Delhi railway station.

Nizamuddin had gotten down when the crowded train stopped at Vivek Vihar railway station, the official said adding he could re-enter it as some people had blocked the doors by keeping huge luggage.

"As he could not get back inside the train, he somehow he managed to get his hand on the rails of the windows as as the train began to move," the official said.

The train gathered speed as it was about to leave the platform and he could not hold on them much longer and slipped on to the tracks.

He suffered head injuries and was rushed to a hospital in Shahdara. Later, his family took him to Aligarh.
