Tamil Nadu additional director general of prisons, A Shyam Sunder today said it was proposed to install telephone booths with STD facility in all the prisons in the state.
Talking to reporters after visiting the central prison here, he said this would help the prisoners to talk to their relatives and lawyers.
He said the jail department had asked some private establishments to outsource jobs to the prisoners lodged in various jails in the state.
