JAIPUR:Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhra Raje said the terror attacks that killed 63 people and injured over 200 would affect the tourism industry in the desert state.

"The impact will be there. But we will be ensuring and taking all measures to minimise the impact," she told reporters on Wednesday.

Rajasthan is one of India's biggest tourist draws.

Agreeing with Raje, former external affairs minister Jaswant Singh told IANS that there would be a "definite" impact on the tourism sector.

Rajasthan Home Minister G.C. Kataria said there would be repercussions for the tourism industry as the economy was largely based on tourism. "We will have to assess them."

But Esther Shaylor, 22, a Briton who is in love with India, particularly Rajasthan, says she will definitely visit the state again next year.

"It depends on person to person... their thinking. Personally, it does not make a difference to me," Shaylor said.

A string of bombs went off in Jaipur's walled city Tuesday evening killing at least 63 people. More than 200 people were injured.
