PM Modi had a fruitful time at the G20 summit in China.

It's fair to say PM Modi had a fulfilling time at the G20 summit in China. He used the summit to forcefully make his point about Pakistan’s role in terrorism as he intervened in the final session on ‘Other significant Issues’ that affect the world economy. On the last day of the summit he said: “Growing forces of violence and terror pose a fundamental challenge. There are some nations that use it as an instrument of state policy. One single nation in South Asia is spreading these agents of terror in the countries of our region. India has a policy of zero tolerance to terrorism. Because anything less than that is not enough. For us, a terrorist is a terrorist.”

The Prime Minister also highlighted how United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development could be an enabler to transform societies and bridge deep inequalities that are creeping in.

The PM also emphasised on collaborative action over the next 15 years and laid out specific actions which include implementing the Paris Agreement in letter and spirit, unleashing agricultural productivity and innovation that has a close link with enhanced food security.

Modi held his first bilateral meeting with British counterpart Theresa May on the sidelines of the G20 Summit. He also met French President Francois Hollande and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. He held bilateral talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and Deputy Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Mohammad Bin Salman on the sidelines of the summit.

He told Jinping that the partnership between both nations is important for the region and also for the whole world. During the talks, Prime Minister Modi highlighted the menace of terrorism, saying recent attacks show how it is spreading across the world and is, therefore, a matter of grave concern.
