LUCKNOW: Three people were killed in a road accident after a car collided with a truck here on Tuesday, police said.
The deceased included the driver and two occupants of the Indica car. The truck driver managed to escape, added the police.
"The incident took place on the Lucknow-Rae Bareli road at 9 a.m. in Nigohaan locality. The truck was coming towards Lucknow and the car was going towards Rae Bareli.
"While the driver, Surendra Yadav, died on the way to hospital, the two occupants, Anil Singh and Avinash Jaiswal, succumbed to injuries in the Trauma Centre," Lucknow police superintendent's spokesman said.
Efforts were on to nab the truck driver, he added.
