Tirumala shrine to be closed for 14 hours for solar eclipse

It will remain closed for about 14 hours from 8.30 PM on Tuesday.

The famous hill shrine of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala will remain closed for about 14 hours from 8.30 PM on Tuesday on account of solar eclipse.

About 80,000 devotees from all over the country on Monday thronged the hill temple on the occasion of "Maha Shivaratri", TTD PRO Talari Ravi told PTI.

Meanwhile about 1.5 lakh devotees offered worship at the famous shrine of Lord Shiva known as Lord Vaayulingeswara in Sri Kalahasti, 40 km from here, on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri, an official at Sri Kalahasti said.
