For Trinamool Congress MP Idris Ali, his party supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is like 'Goddess Saraswati' and 'Mother Teresa'.
Ali equated Mamata to Goddess Saraswati and Mother Teresa in the Lok Sabha while speaking about issues of West Bengal and his constituency Basirhat. "We believe that our Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is like Goddess Saraswati who is doing a lot of developmental work for the state. She should not be disrespected in any manner. If she is disrespected, then the state of West Bengal feels humiliated and we are never going to accept that," he said.
"I am deeply grateful to our Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, who is, in our eyes, 'Mother Teresa'," he added. In his zero hour mention, Ali said people in his constituency earn their livelihood mainly from agriculture, fishery, animal husbandry and fishery, among others.
"I would like to draw the attention of the central government to the issues of Basirhat particularly so that work commences immediately and West Bengal is not deprived of anything. Government should take care of the state of West Bengal," he added.
"There is a need for an evening branch of public sector banking systems in few blocks of Basirhat constituency. I demand from the Finance Minister to take steps in this regard," he said. There is also a demand of introducing computerised speed posts centres along with the money transfer system in all the post offices of my constituency, Ali said.
