Trinamool Congress MP Kalyan Banerjee lashed out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, referring to him as ‘son of a rat’. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s supporters are calling him a lion. But I’m saying this today that the day is not too far when Modi will have to return to his hole in Gujarat like a son of a rat,” said Banerjee while staging a protest outside the Kolkata office of Reserve Bank of India.

Later, speaking to reporters at the dharna, Banerjee said that he was not ashamed of using such words for the Prime Minister. This dharna was a part of the nationwide protests demanding Prime Minister Modi’s removal. The party, including its supremo, Mamata Banerjee have been raising slogans like, “Modi hatao, desh bachao.” Reacting to Banerjee’s remarks against the Prime Minister, Union Minister for Urban Development, Venkaiah Naidu said, “This is the lowest that politicians can stoop to.”
