BSF personnel today apprehended two National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) militants of the anti-talks faction in Meghalaya and busted a hide-out of the banned ULFA in Assam’s Karbi Anglong district.
Official sources said the border guards launched an operation at Jilajore in West Garo Hills district where the self-styled sergeant major of the NDFB Godadhar Hajong was arrested early today.
A resident of Mahendraganj in the district, Hajong was a 'recruitment officer' of the outfit and is said to have lured many youths to join the group.
Another NDFB activist, Doki Sangma, was also caught, sources said adding two mobile sets and as many SIM cards were seized.
In another raid following tip off, the BSF raided a base camp used as a transit point by the ULFA in Jahangiri in Golaghat district of Assam.
A transistor IED (improvised explosive device) along with explosive, one AK-47 magazine, five rounds of AK ammunition, CDs, wires and other explosives and sharp weapons were recovered from the camp.
The base camp, which consists of five huts, was demolished by the raid party.
