Train service on the Howrah-Mumbai main line was suspended for nearly two hours following a bomb blast between Bhalulata-Bisra about 30km from Rourkela early this morning.

GRP sources said, the explosion  occurred far from the railway line near Kataranda village bordering Jharkhand and there was no damage to the railway track.

No loss of life was reported, they said

The Railway authorities conducted a thorough check on the track and train services were suspended from 4.30am to nearly 6.30am.

Normal service has since been restored on the main Howrah-Bombay line.

Railway staff rushed to the spot soon after the blast.
