NEW DELHI: Railways on Monday cancelled 10 trains besides rescheduling and diverting a number of trains passing through Rajasthan in view of the Gujjar unrest in the state.
After a review of the situation at 3.30pm, the Railway Board took the decision in order to provide safety and security to its passengers, an official release said.
However, 10 trains were allowed to run keeping with a view that situation on their respective routes.
The 10 cancelled trains are: 2016 (Ajmer-New Delhi) Shatabdi Exp, 2980 (Jaipur-Bandra Terminus), 2462 (Jodhpur-Delhi), 2965 (Jaipur-Udaipur), 2966(Udaipur-Jaipur), 9781 (Jaipur--Amritsar), 2987 (Jaipur-Gwalior), 2015 (New Delhi-Ajmer Shatabdi Exp) and 4311 (Bareilly-New Bhuj Express).
The two partially cancelled trains are: 2465/2466 Sawaimadhopur-Jodhpur-Sawaimadhopur Express (between S'madhopur-Jaipur and S'madhopur and 2414/2413 Jammutawi-Jaipur-Jammutawi Exp (between Delhi-Jaipur-Delhi).
The three diverted trains are: 2461 (Delhi-Jodhpur) leaving Delhi via Bhatinda-Bikaner, 2958 New Delhi-Ahmedabad) Rajdhani Exp leaving Delhi via Mathura-Kota-Vadodara, and 9264 (Delhi Sarai Rohilla-Porbandar) leaving Delhi via Mathura-Kota-Vadodara.
