Dense fog cover played havoc with railway services in parts of north India this morning with nine trains being cancelled and 21 others running hours behind schedule.
A Northern Railway spokesman said 21 trains were behind over three hours behind schedule due to fog. Among them are the Sealdah-Rajdhani Express, Bhubaneswar-Rajdhani Express, Purushottam Express and Ranchi Garib Rath Express.
A total of nine trains, including Licchvi Express from New Delhi to Sitamarhi, New Delhi-Gaya Mahabodhi Express and Nijamuddin-Jhansi Taj Express have been cancelled.
A number of trains were terminated at various stations before their destination.
