Two compartments of Godan Express set ablaze

Suspected Hindu Yuva Vahini activists set ablaze the compartments at Mohammadabad protesting the arrest of BJP MP Yogi Adityanath.

MAU: Suspected Hindu Yuva Vahini activists on Thursday night set ablaze two compartments of Mumbai-Gorakhpur Godan Express at Mohammadabad railway station protesting the arrest of BJP MP from Gorakhpur Yogi Adityanath.

According to police sources, the activists set on fire S-2 and S-3 compartments soon after the train came to a halt at Mohammadabad, around 300 km from Lucknow, on the north-eastern railway.

No loss of life was reported although some passengers sustained minor injuries while they were trying to jump out the compartments. The burning compartments were detached from the train and fire tenders reached the spot, sources said.
