Villagers beat up three men suspecting them as child lifters in Jadugora police limit area last night and one of them succumbed within a few hours. On being informed, police rescued two others who were admitted to hospital.

Another person was seriously injured after villagers thrashed him badly on Wednesday on the same suspicion in the area, police said, adding that the victim was rushed to M G M Hospital here, where he succumbed yesterday.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (Musaboni) Ajit Kumar Vimal said no child was recovered from the victims who seemed to be mentally unsound and beggars.
