Two more cases of the Crimean Congo Haemorrhagic Fever (CCHF), which has already claimed three lives in Ahmedabad in the past fortnight, were detected on Friday, taking the number of confirmed cases to five.

While one of them is the husband of CCHF’s first victim Ameena Momin, the second is a male nurse at Shalby Hospital, where patients of the near-fatal infection were treated earlier.

The national institute of virology, Pune confirmed that Prashant Joy, 23, working in Shalby Hospital, was infected with the virus.
