On June 3, 2013, Jiah was found hanging from a ceiling fan at her apartment in Juhu. Actor Aditya's son Sooraj was arrested after being booked under IPC Section 306 for abetting her suicide, a week after her death.

Two years since United States citizen, actress Jiah Khan died, and the investigating agencies are yet to clear the mystery surrounding her death. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which is probing the case, had conducted searches at the residence of actor Aditya Pancholi last month, and found 'incriminating documents'.

On June 3, 2013, Jiah was found hanging from a ceiling fan at her apartment in Juhu. Actor Aditya's son Sooraj was arrested after being booked under IPC Section 306 for abetting her suicide, a week after her death.

Sooraj was held on the basis of the note purportedly left behind by Jiah, which indicated she was heartbroken because of his 'womanising' and 'growing distance' between them.

Jiah's mother Rabiya Khan had claimed her daughter took the extreme step due to trauma and abuse caused by Sooraj.

In an investigation that followed Jiah's death, Mumbai police concluded she took her own life and filed a charge-sheet in a city court last year accusing Sooraj of abetment to suicide.

Last year in August, CBI launched an investigation whether the death was a suicide or a homicide after Jiah's mother approached the Bombay high court alleging shoddy investigation by the police. Sooraj and his parents denied all the charges.

CBI spokesperson Kanchan Prasad said: "The matter is under investigation. We had seized some documents from Pancholi's home in Mumbai, and are hopeful to get the truth out."

Jiah, had made a high-profile debut in 2007 opposite Amitabh Bachchan in Ram Gopal Varma's Nishabd. She has also worked with other renowned film-makers of Bollywood.
