Relentless in his attack on Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju, who has attacked the Left for misleading people amid the raging controversy over Delhi University student Gurmehar Kaur, Bollywood lyricist and poet Javed Akhtar asserted that the former was ?grossly biased?.

Responding to attack on Gurmehar by Indian wrestlers Yogeshwar Dutt and the Phogat sisters, Akhtar took to Twitter to say, ?If a hardly literate player or a wrestler troll a pacifist daughter of a martyr its understandable but whats wrong with some educated folks,?

In a clear reference to Rijiju, Akhtar went on to say, ?Mr minister , you have condemned the left by falsely accusing them for celebrating soldiers killing n not a word about AVBP. Grossly biased.?

Earlier today, Akhtar had come down heavily on Rijiju for hinting that Gurmehar Kaur was being influenced by political rivals.

?I don?t about her but Mr Minister I know who is polluting your mind,? he wrote on Twitter without naming Rijiju.

The Union Minister had earlier hit back at those criticising him for asking who was polluting Gurmehar's mind, saying that he stood by his tweet and was only speaking his mind.

"She (Gurmehar Kaur) is a young girl, creating controversy over her isn't right. It is about leftists who celebrate when our jawans die. They mislead the youth and it is not right," Rijiju told the media.

Rijiju further said that Kaur is daughter of a Kargil martyr whose soul must be weeping by seeing his daughter being misguided by those who celebrate on the bodies of martyrs.

Welcoming the FIR by the Delhi Police regarding the alleged rape threat issued to Gurmehar, Rijiju stated that anyone who has used such language must be identified.

Meanwhile, Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury alleged that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) backed Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) wants to impose its regressive ideas on the country.

"RSS, ABVP want to impose all their regressive ideas on what you wear, eat, see, do or the way you live," he told ANI.

"Sangh Parivar has no strength of conviction in its reasoning, the threat of violence is only the weapon against ideas," added Yechury, who attended the protest march organised by the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and Delhi University students against the ABVP in North Campus.

Echoing similar sentiments, CPI leader D. Raja, who accompanied Yechury during the protest march, said this is a collective fight to defend our constitutional rights.

"We will be raising the issue of DU in the Parliament," he added.
