Union budget 'growth oriented': Puducherry unit of CII

Chairman of CII T Rajarajan said that allocation of more funds for new and renewable energy sector was a step in the right direction.

Puducherry unit of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has welcomed the union budget for 2010-2011 presented by finance minister Pranab Mukherjee in Parliament yesteray and said it was 'growth oriented'.

In a release here today, chairman of CII T Rajarajan said that allocation of more funds for new and renewable energy sector was a step in the right direction. This initiative would help to overcome shortage of power across the country.

Increase in allocation of funds for primary education, 40% of the budgetary allocations for infrastructure development, new income tax slab and special care for agriculture were some of the highlights of the budget, he said.
