Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhwat tests positive for COVID-19

Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has said that he got himself tested for the virus after he experienced symptoms of coronavirus.

Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on Thursday took to Twitter to inform that he has tested positive for COVID-19.

In a tweet in Hindi, the Jal Shakti Minister said that he got himself tested for the virus after he experienced symptoms of coronavirus.

The minister also said that on the advice of doctors, he was hospitalised and urged people who came in contact with him to get themselves tested.

"I underwent a coronavirus test after developing symptoms and the report has come positive. I am getting hospitalised on the advice of doctors. I request all who have come in my contact in the past days to isolate themselves and get tested," Shekhawat tweeted.

On Tuesday, Shekhawat held a meeting on the Sutlej Yamuna Link (SYL) in which Haryana Chief Minister ML Khattar was physically present along with his deputy in the ministry Rattan Lal Kataria, and senior officials. Punjab CM Amarinder Singh attended the meeting virtually.
