Uncertainty continues in Congress.

In a meeting of Congress Parliamentary party headed by Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi has again made it clear that he is unwilling to continue as the chief of the grand old party.

Reportedly, all MPs were unison in their demand that Rahul Gandhi should continue as the Congress President. They said that it is a difficult time for the party and Rahul Gandhi needs to lead from the front. They also said that no one apart from Rahul Gandhi is capable enough to lead the party currently. After the meeting, Shashi Tharoor and Manish Tewari separately met Rahul Gandhi and told him that the onus of defeat should be collective and shouldn't be put on one person.

Congress leaders hopes had increased after Rahul interacted with party leaders of states which are going to the polls later this year. But, Rahul has again made it clear that he is unwilling to continue.

After second successive defeat in Lok Sabha elections, Congress President Rahul Gandhi expressed willingness to relinquish his post to Congress Working Committee. However, twice CWC has rejected Rahul Gandhi's resignation and stated that he is the boss. However, currently there is impasse over who actually is in control of India's second largest political party.

There are some talks of Ashok Gehlot replacing Rahul Gandhi. In Rahul's absence, Congress is also thinking of appointing four Working Presidents to look after daily work. However, nothing has been finalised yet.
