Newly appointed Uttar Pradesh (UP) Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, along with eight of his counterparts from other states, will be the star BJP campaigner for the municipal elections, scheduled to be held in the Capital on April 23.
Delhi BJP Chief Manoj Tiwari will personally request the star campaigners for their participation. "It is a tentative list of senior party leaders who will campaign for the municipal elections and expose the Aam Aadmi Party and its leader Arvind Kejriwal," Delhi BJP Vice-President Ravindra Gupta said.
The Chief Ministers of BJP-ruled Maharashtra, Assam, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh, will also campaign. "Apart from the Chief Ministers, many Central ministers will also campaign in the city to expose the AAP government's false promises and corrupt practices," a party statement read.
Names of several Union ministers, including Rajnath Singh, Arun Jaitley, M Venkaiah Naidu, Nitin Gadkari, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Harsh Vardhan, and Vijay Goel figure in the star campaigner list. The Delhi municipatl elections are expected to witness a three-pronged contest between BJP, AAP, and Congress.
Senior party leaders Kalraj Mishra, Smriti Irani, Radha Mohan Singh, Giriraj Singh, Sanjiv Balyan, Jitendra Singh, Vijay Kumar Malhotra, Shahnawaz Hussain, and Sambit Patra will also take part in the campaigning, among others.
