Aadhaar card is one of the most necessary documents you need to carry these days and having the updated address and phone number is of utmost importance. You usually need to visit the Aadhaar Seva Kendra or bank or post office to update the details in your Aadhaar card. However, if you want to just update your address, you can do it from the comfort of your home, too.
Steps to update/change your address in your Aadhaar card online:
Step 1: Visit the website uidai.gov.in and click on the ‘Address Update Request (Online)’.
Step 2: After the new page opens, you will have to enter your 12 digit Aadhaar card number.
Step 3: After this enter the captcha code and click on ‘Send OTP’.
Step 4: Now the OTP that comes on your registered mobile will have to be entered and then click on Login for further processing.
Step 5: On the next page, you will have to click on Address and do further processing.
Step 6: On the newly opened page, you have to fill the complete detail carefully. Also, keep in mind that the information given by you in English has been translated properly in your local language as well.
After this, to enter your new address on the Aadhaar card, you will also have to scan and upload some documents. For this, it is necessary that the address you want on the Aadhaar card, the same address should also be entered in the document attached on your behalf.
After uploading the documents you will be issued an Update Request Number from UIDAI. With the help of this, you can easily track the status of your application.
