Leader of the opposition and senior TC leader Partha Chatterjee demanded that the killing of Ranjit Roy and Congress leader Bapi Chowdhury be discussed immediately.

The opposition Congress and Trinamool Congress today led a walkout in the West Bengal assembly, after speaker HA Halim refused to accept a demand for suspension of question hour to discuss killings in the state.

Soon after the house met for the day, leader of the opposition and senior TC leader Partha Chatterjee demanded that the killing of TC Chhatra Parishad leader Ranjit Roy and Congress leader Bapi Chowdhury at a blood donation camp at Habra in North 24 Parganas district yesterday be discussed immediately.

Chatterjee alleged links of CPI (M) with the killers, and was soon joined by TC members who shouted slogans and displayed placards saying 'Buddhadeb Leave Bengal' and 'Stop Reign of Terror and Bloodshed'.

TC members then went to the well and shouted slogans before the podium against deteriorating law and order in the state.

Congress members led by party chief whip Manas Bhuniya also joined the issue and walked out of the house.

TC members, however, continued to protest disrupting the question hour and finally walked out.
