US student alleges sexual harassment by teacher at St Stephens

A student from US, who was enrolled in Delhi University's St Stephens College for a short duration course in Sanskrit, was allegedly sexually harassed by a teacher.

NEW DELHI: A student from US, who was enrolled in Delhi University's St Stephens College for a short duration course in Sanskrit, was allegedly sexually harassed by a teacher, according to college authorities.
    
She was part of a batch of 15 students who had come on a foreign student'exchange programme had lodged a complaint before the College Complaint Committee (CCC) in this regard, sources in the college said on Friday.
    
In her complaint, the student who had come to India in August and left for the US on Friday after the completion of the course, alleged that she was molested by a teacher.
    
"The complaint is being investigated by the CCC," Vinod Choudhary, adviser to the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) of the college, said.
    
"The CCC will take its own time to investigate the matter. Action would be taken after the report is submitted," he said.
