Uttar Pradesh: Jain monk booked for kidnapping girl pursuing MTech

The monk has called it a campaign to malign his image.

A complained has been filed against a Jain monk in Uttar Pradesh for allegedly kidnapping a girl. Girl's father Sunil Kumar Jain has alleged that his daughter was persuaded by monk Nayan Sagar and he took her with him.

 According to a report in Amar Ujala, the girl from Khatauli area of Muzaffarnagar went missing on July 28 from her engineering college campus. After searching for her for two days, Sunil Kumar Jain registered a complaint alleging the monk kidnapped the girl. 

A video of the girl with the monk has gone viral in which both of them are seen together on June 23 and 24. Both of them were in Vahelna when their suspicious activities were caught on camera. The CCTV footage shows the girl talking on the phone late at night and after a while, the monk was seen entering her room.

Event organisers at Vahelna have denied any responsibility of the kidnapping and reportedly said that it's a conspiracy to malign the image of and 30 years worth of work done by Nayan Sagar.

Nayan Sagar has also made a video denying the allegations laid against him. Alleging that the suspicious CCTV video was made viral from Malaysia, he questioned the motives of those behind this malign campaign.
