Uttar Pradesh's Ram Temple tableau on Republic Day bags first prize

Uttar Pradesh came second among the Republic Day tableaux in 2020, meaning it is the second consecutive year that the state is winning an award.

The much-talked about Ram Temple tableau of Uttar Pradesh that was on display during the Republic Day has bagged the first prize among all tableaux. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will be giving away the first prize to Uttar Pradesh for its tableau today (January 28).

The Ram Temple tableau evoked strong reactions from the public. It is reported that the people present to witness the parade at the Rajpath applauded when the model of the upcoming Ram Temple in Ayodhya made an appearance. The tableau provided the glimpse of the temple that began its construction recently.

As for the setting of the tableau, it showcased Maharishi Valmiki composing the Ramayana, followed by a model replica of the Ram temple that showed how it would look after its construction. It is for the first time that the Uttar Pradesh tableau showcased a glimpse of the Ram Temple that is being built in Ayodhya.

Informing his followers about the first prize won by the tableau, Uttar Pradesh Information Director Shishir (IAS) congratulated the entire team behind the tableau on this distinction.

He said in his tweet, "Uttar Pradesh's grand tableau has the distinction of getting first place in this year's Republic Day, heartfelt congratulations to the entire team! Special thanks to lyricist Virendra Vats. The Defence Minister will present the award in Delhi."

"Thanks to each one for his good wishes. Its an inspiration to work. UP has created history by getting prizes for two consecutive years. Last year we stood second and this year we are numero uno. Thanks once again to all," he further said.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had also shared the picture of the Ram Mandir model tableau earlier.

It is to be noted that Uttar Pradesh came second among the Republic Day tableaux in 2020. That means it is the second consecutive year that Uttar Pradesh is winning an award. The Uttar Pradesh tableau shared the second position with Odisha while Assam was declared to have the best tableau last year.
