A 25-year-old youth from Vasai was shot dead by four unknown assailants in Kingston, Jamaica on Thursday. The Constant Spring police is probing the case and suspects robbery as the motive.

Four assailants entered his residence at Cherry gardens in Kingston 8 and shot Talreja on his back while his two roommates were shot in the leg. The incident took place at 7 pm (Jamaican time).

Rakesh Talreja, a resident of Ambadi road in Vasai West, had left his family two and half years ago to work with Caribbean jewellers in Kingston.

Talreja's father Prakash is now demanding help from the Jamaican government and Indian External Minister Sushma Swaraj to nab the assailants for justice.

"His employer informed us about the incident to which at first we did not believe and now we have been informed that his body would be flown to Mumbai in two days. We want justice and the Indian government should seek answers from Jamaican government so that they nab the assailants", said Prakash.

"It was no fault of my son. He was hard working and had informed us that he will be back home this year", said Prakash.
