Vehicles and public property were damaged as residents of Pindora and Hathchoya villages here clashed over the supply of power, police said today.
Villagers from Hathchoya yesterday opposed construction of a power line to supply electricity from the power station in their area to the nearby Pindora village, they said.
The residents of Hathchoya village uprooted electricity polls which led to the disruption of power supply in the area, police said, adding the villagers from Pindora blocked the road to press their demand for the supply of electricity.
Cases have been registered against 300 people and police presence has been increased to maintain law and order, they said.
