Warm morning in Jammu and Kashmir, night temperature rises

Srinagar and Jammu recorded a low of 6.6 and 16.1 degrees Celsius respectively.

People today woke up to a warm morning in Jammu and Kashmir as night temperature rose above normal even as some areas were lashed by intermittent rains overnight.

While the night temperature in Srinagar was six degrees above normal, it was four degrees above normal in Jammu, met department said.
    
The night temperature also rose by a few notches in other areas of the valley including Kokernag (3.9), Qazigund (3.7), Pahalgam (3.4) in south and Kupwara (3.7) in north Kashmir.
    
Famous ski resort of Gulmarg recorded a minimum of minus 1.0 degrees Celsius. The place recorded minus 2.5 degrees Celsius yesterday.
    
In Jammu region, Katra recorded a low of 15.6 degrees Celsius followed by Batote (9.7), Bhaderwah (6.5) and Banihal (6.4).
    
There was also improvement in night temperature in Ladakh with Kargil recording a low of minus 3.0 degrees Celsius today (against minus 4.0 yesterday) and Leh a minimum of minus 1.8 against minus 1.0 yesterday.
    
Srinagar, Pahalgam, Kupwara and Gulmarg in the valley were lashed by intermittent rains but failed to bring any change in the temperature.
