Unfazed, the Metro authority announced its new service on the micro blogging site Twitter today saying, “Network problems while travelling? Not Anymore! The Mumbai Metro now has W-Fi!”.

The Wi-Fi connectivity is available at all the 12 metro stations and commuters can now surf the net, mail, tweet or download while at the stations on their laptops, tablets or smart phones. Those interested in using the new service would get the first 15 minutes of usage everyday, for free as an introductory offer.
However, to stay online for more time, commuters will have to buy introductory coupons for Rs 100, which will allow them Wi-Fi access for 180 hours. These coupons would be valid for six months from the day of purchase. The introductory offer is valid only for the first 5000 buyers and the coupons can be purchased from customer care centres at the metro stations.
