We need minds without violence: Tara Gandhi

Tara Gandhi Bhattacharjee, granddaughter of Mahatma Gandhi and daughter of Devadas Gandhi, was in Ahmedabad to promote a unique initiative taken by Khadi Art and Bhu Sattva.

Mahatma Gandhi's idea of khadi is impressing fashion designers and corporate fashion houses to use it as a tool for social uplift. Tara Gandhi Bhattacharjee, granddaughter of Mahatma Gandhi and daughter of Devadas Gandhi, was in Ahmedabad to promote a unique initiative taken by Khadi Art and Bhu Sattva. Talking to DNA on Monday, Tara Gandhi shared her thoughts on Gandhi and Khadi.

On getting connected with Bhu Sattva, she said, p"Bhu Sattva is the concept and we are all connected to it. Khadi is itself a creative art." She has been working for the welfare of the spinners and the weavers of khadi. "Today we need minds without violence and the world without pollution. Idea of Khadi given by Mahatma Gandhi has the potential to serve this purpose."

Jainam Shah, Managing Director of Bhu Sattva brand said, "Bhu Sattva is in organic designer ware segment but we got associated with Khadi Art as it represents the promotion of non-violence through art."
