The rally, which began at Bhadrakali temple, also had prominent Congress personalities including ex-chief minister Shankersinh Vaghela and former deputy chief minister Narhari Amin. Addressing the media, they said, "The temple symbolizes end of sins. We want to remove the sin from the state government." Around 100 men dressed in similar T-shirts did a flag march to kick off the rally.

Speaking about issues which Congress is trying to solve through it, corporator Vinod Kantharia said, "Through this rally, we want to ask the state government why big companies like Adani and Essar are not asked to pay their taxes. When a common man doesn't pay tax, the civic body immediately seals his property, so why not now? The state government's liability is Rs1 lakh crore. If Adani and Essar pay their taxes of Rs5, 000 crore and Rs8, 300 crore respectively, the liability will be reduced to a great extent." They also demanded explanation from the ruling party for hiking fares of AMTS and BRTS.

After the rally, general meets were conducted at three different places of the city namely Asarwa, Shahpur and Navtal.Meanwhile, the citizens had a lot of trouble commuting on the jammed Danapith road. Loud beating of dhols and bursting of fire crackers made the rally a noisy affair.
