Reiterating his promises to farmers, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday made it clear that he was ready to hold discussions with only protesting farmers but will not engage in a political conversation in the name of the farmers’ strike.

Speaking to media persons, Fadnavis said that he has assured to take a decision by October 31 on loan waiver for marginal farmers with small landholding up to five acres. He said that he would fulfill all the promises including loan waivers.

He also stated that he held discussions with farmer leaders before announcing loan waiver and was ready to hold talks if a discussion was required. Farmers’ agitation continued in some parts of the state, despite the CM announcing a loan waiver for marginal farmers two days ago.
