A senior official of the Delhi Metro has been accused of molesting a woman colleague with the organisation today saying that an internal inquiry has been ordered to look into the allegations.
The woman, a legal adviser, claimed that she was being harassed by her senior for the past few days, a senior police officer said.
She said, "I have been going through the harassment by the general manager for quite some time. He used to pass lewd comments on me, saying that I look very beautiful and that he loves me."
The woman has filed a complaint at Barakhamba police station besides informing the top management of the Delhi Metro, the officer said.
A case of molestation has been registered against the official under Sections 354 (outraging the modesty of a woman) and 509 (making indecent gestures to insult a woman) of Indian Penal Code. No arrest has been made in the case.
A Delhi Metro spokesperson said a complaint has been received from a woman employee alleging misbehaviour by her senior.
"A three-member inquiry committee consisting of two senior lady officers and an officer from the HR department of DMRC has been constituted to look into the matter," the spokesperson said.
