The half-naked body of a 25-year-old woman was found in a gunny bag today near Ellapalayam, a suburb of Erode, police said.
Police suspect that the woman had been raped before being strangled.
Police, after being tipped-off by the local people, on opening the gunny bag, found the body in a plastic bag.
The identity of the woman is not known.
