Ramachandran was taking a jibe at solar scam accused Saritha Nair, though he did not take her name directly.

Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president  Mullapally Ramachandran triggered a controversy by making a shocking statement.

“A woman with self-respect will die if she is raped or else try not to be sexually assaulted again. But every day she is telling she is raped by someone," Ramachandran was heard saying.

“The LDF has brought a sex worker as a desperate attempt to tell her tales. The CM’s blackmailing won’t work this time. One can understand when a woman is raped once but she says she is assaulted repeatedly. Nobody will believe her studded lies,” he said.

Ramachandran was taking a jibe at solar scam accused Saritha Nair, though he did not take her name directly.

Mullapally was slamming the LDF for bringing up the solar scam case during the Congress regime to counter the criticism against its own gold smuggling and drug cases.

Ramachandran was criticising the Left Democratic Front (LDF) after the Solar scam accused Sarita Nair approached the police recently accusing former Congress Minister A P Anil Kumar of raping her.

However, he apologised for his statement saying that it was not his intention.

“If my remark has hurt anyone, I am offering my unconditional apology. There are campaigns by certain quarters to depict it as anti-women, which isn’t true,” Mullappally Ramachandran said.
