In a brutal act of revenge, six youths allegedly ran over a sub-inspector on Friday, a day after he booked them for drunken driving in Noida.“Sub-inspector Peter John, who booked the youngsters on Wednesday night, is battling for life,” senior superintendent of police AK Singh said.John, from Uttarakhand, was on routine patrol when he found the youngsters drunk. He immediately challaned them and sent them to the police station.“Soon after the youths got bail, they picked up a fight with John. They first hit his bike and after he fell on the road, they ran their car over him,” John’s daughter said. “Initially, we did not know who the boys were. Later we found out that they were the same boys booked by John. They have been arrested,” a police officer said. “We don’t know what to do. We are safe nowhere,” John’s wife said. The boys are from rich families in Haryana.
