Extensive cleaning drive of Srinagar's Brari Nambal Lake commences

Government has commenced dredging of Brari Nambal Lake in Srinagar on Jul 01. The lake is located in the downtown area of Srinagar and receives water through mini water channels from different areas of Srinagar. During lockdown, the lake's water channels got blocked. Stagnant water in the lake, created foul smell therefore government started dredging. After relaxation in lockdown the department has immediately put its man and machinery in forces to clean the Brari Nambal Lake. Cleaning drive will restore scenic lake's beauty. Lake and water development authority supervisor said, 'We request to people to not throw garbage in the lake, as the lake is for them only. The cleaning is underway.'
