In the Eliminator clash between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), the David Warner-led side won the toss and have opted to field.
This is the 11th time Warner has won the toss in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 and this makes them favourites to win the 13th edition of the cash-rich tournament.
The reason being that in eight-team editions, only Rohit Sharma in 2017 and MS Dhoni in 2018 won the toss so often. It is important to note that the Hitman and the Captain Cool went on to win the IPL in the respective seasons as well.
The SRH side, however, sees an unwanted change. Wriddhiman Saha is missing out of the clash with an injury. He has been replaced by Shreevats Goswami.
The SRH skipper is also nearing a milestone. He is in need of 5 sixes to complete 200 IPL sixes. The captain is back in form and could achieve this feat if he continues his scoring momentum.
As for the clash, the stakes are pretty clear. The loser of the Eliminator is out of the tournament while the winner will take on Delhi Capitals (DC) in Qualifier 2.
Mumbai Indians (MI) have already qualified for the IPL 2020 final after beating DC by 57 runs. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have an even 1-1 record in the league stages of IPL 2020.
Virat Kohli’s team won the first match by 10 runs while David Warner’s side registered a magnificent five-wicket win inside 15 overs in Sharjah.
