The most consistent side of the IPL will now face Delhi Capitals (DC) who are making their maiden appearance in the history of the tournament.
Delhi Capitals squared off against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Qualifier 2 and defeated them by 17 runs to have a second shot against Mumbai. Delhi had lost Qualifier 1 against Mumbai Indians by 57 runs.

The title defenders played their first clash against arch-rivals CSK in the opener of the season. By dismissing six batsmen for just 35 runs, CSK restricted theM to a decent total which they easily managed to chase with four balls to spare.

MI went against KKR in Abu Dhabi after the loss to CSK. The team went to bat first putting up a formidable total of 195. While defending it, Jasprit Bumrah, Trent Boult and Rahul Chahar picked up most wickets, restricting the opponents to 146.
Mumbai Indians (MI) vs Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) - Dubai International Stadium, Dubai:
MI locked horns with Virat Kohli-led RCB and put up a total of 201. The score was huge, but it ended in a Super Over. RCB beat Mumbai Indians 7 for 1.
Mumbai Indians (MI) vs Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) - Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi:
The Mumbai based had defeated KXIP by 48 runs. MI skipper Rohit Sharma’s 25 ball 70 was a key highlight of the game.
Mumbai Indians (MI) vs Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) - Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah:
This clash saw the David Warner side lose to MI by 34 runs. Quinto de Kock’s 67 from 39 deliveries helped MI win the match with ease.
Mumbai Indians (MI) vs Rajasthan Royals (RR) - Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi:
Mumbai Indians clashed with Rajasthan Royals and put up a mammoth total of over 190 on the board. Suryakumar Yadav’s unbeaten 79 off 47 helped MI to register another consecutive win as they defeated RR by a huge 57 runs.

In this clash, DC went to bat first and managed to score 162. However, Mr dependable Suryakumar Yadav smashed 53 from 32 and Krunal Pandya picking up two crucial wickets got MI the 5 wickets victory with 2 balls to spare.

With back to back wins for Mumbai Indians in the first half of the tournament, their second clash against KKR saw them register another spectacular 8 wicket victory with the help of in-form Quinton de Kock.

MI encountered KXIP for the second time and this was the most entertaining clash with the two sides entering into the Super Over eliminator after the match was tied. KXIP had even ended MI’s winning streak.

The arch-rivals against had a face-off and this time MI defeated CSK by 10 wickets, chasing 116 in just 12.2 overs.

Rajasthan Royals effectively chased the target put up by MI as the team lost to Royals by 8 wickets. Ben Stokes proved to be impressive due to his century. He was Man of the Match for 107 not out.

Mumbai Indians made a comeback against RCB as Suryakumar Yadav had his most memorable knock of the season. He took his side home as MI won by 5 wickets.

In the second clash against Delhi, Mumbai's opponents faced a cheap loss from the table-toppers who won by 9 wickets. In-form Ishan Kishan smashed 72 from 47 for his team.

In their second clash, SRH ensured to take the must-win match home. David Warner and Wriddhiman Saha’s great partnership as openers took SRH into top four. This was the second time after 2011, MI lost a game by 10 wickets.

Mumbai ran over Delhi and won the match by 57 runs. Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan scored fifties, while Hardik Pandya's 37 from 14 balls took them to 200.
