CSK bowling all-rounder is infamously called Lord on social media for making his name for starring for his team with bat and ball at crucial moments.

'Lord Shardul Thakur' isn't a real name but a Twitter trend in appreciation of the fast bowler that became a rage during the recently concluded limited-overs series between India and England. Thakur, who became Team India's unofficial partnership breaker during the eight games, five T20Is and three ODIs was hailed by one and all during that time and from hilarious memes about him being better all-rounder than Ben Stokes and Hardik Pandya to him being the most underrated player with the prefix of 'Lord' ahead of his name, started flooding Twitter and all of the social media.

After completing the mandatory 7-day quarantine, Thakur finally joined the CSK training camp, two days before his side's first game against the last year's runners-up Delhi Capitals on Saturday, April 10.

Asked about being called lord, Thakur replied with a smile saying, "Everywhere I see or someone keeps sending me on the Whatsapp, they say, 'Lord Shardul Thakur'. I seriously don't know where did that come from (chuckling).

"In a way that's good that people are appreciating so much. They are loving me, they are loving my performances," Thakur added.

Thakur was one of the stars for the Indian team during the eight games as he was the highest wicket-taker in both the T20Is and ODIs, taking eight and seven wickets, respectively and ending with 15 wickets in total.

Thakur will be hoping to continue his wicket-taking form for the MS Dhoni-led side in the IPL as well.
