KL Rahul's 132 becomes highest ever score by captain in IPL

When Virat Kohli - considered to be a good fielder - drops an in-form batsman twice, it is absolute carnage.

When Virat Kohli - considered to be a good fielder - drops an in-form batsman twice, it is absolute carnage. That's what KL Rahul did for Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the sixth match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020.

Kings XI were looking for something in the range of 180 at the 16th over, however, courtesy KL Rahul helped them cross 200 easily.

KXIP scored 74 runs off the last 4 overs as Rahul kept nudging the ball around and collecting the odd boundaries.

Rahul's 132 off 69 balls is the highest ever score by a captain in IPL. He was helped by some poor fielding by the RCB skipper who dropped him twice before he reached his 2nd IPL hundred.

The score is also the highest-ever score by an Indian in the history of IPL.

Earlier in the clash, Rahul broke an eight-year-old record held by Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar.

The Karnataka lad became the fastest Indian to reach the 2000 run-mark in the Indian Premier League (IPL) - in his 60th innings. As for Tendulkar, he achieved this feat in 63 innings.

Rahul's teammate Chris Gayle holds the record for the fastest batsman to reach 2000 runs in his 48th innings in IPL.
