Rajya Sabha MP and former union minister Kumari Selja, who was recently appointed chairperson of screening committee for Rajasthan assembly election, while speaking to DNA said that screening of candidates would commence after Mera Booth Mera Gaurav programme gets over. The three members committee under her chairmanship will then deliberate and recommend candidates for Rajasthan Assembly election slated for December the year. 

DNA: When will the committee commence the screening process of candidates?

Selja: The committee has just been formed and it is yet to commence functioning. We are of the view that the candidate screening process must begin after Mera Booth Mera Gaurav programme gets over as all the leaders and workers are engaged in it.

Will the yardsticks set in AK Antony committee report be adhered to? 

We will set certain parameters to screen and recommend names of the candidates. These parameters shall be set in consultation with AICC High Command. We will work out on it soon.

When do you plan to visit Jaipur to commence screening of candidates officially?

Our committee does not want to interrupt the ongoing MBMG the programme. Yes, in coming days I will plan a tour to Jaipur for screening of candidates.
